Ola Electric Launches India’s First Made-In-India Home Battery System

Ola Electric has rolled out Ola Shakti, a residential battery energy storage system fully designed, engineered, and manufactured in India using its 4680 Bharat Cell technology, marking its entry into the domestic home energy storage market.

Ola Electric, the EV producer, has started shipping Ola Shakti, a home battery energy storage unit, from its gigafactory in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu. With this move the company steps into India’s household energy storage segment and moves beyond vehicles.

The pack runs on Ola’s own 4680 Bharat Cells plus is the first home battery system in India that is wholly devised, developed and built inside the country.

Ola describes Shakti as a movable, pay-as-you-need power source for houses, farms but also shops. It carries vehicle level safety, works with high efficiency and needs no fuel or routine upkeep. Compared with lead acid inverters or diesel gensets, it switches on instantly, tolerates mains voltages from 200 V to 240 V to shield equipment as well as will not leak. The IP67 battery pack has passed dust, water and monsoon tests.

A companion phone app shows live battery level or energy direction, studies consumption to trim waste without user effort and sends tips that cut power bills.

Shakti sells in four sizes: 1 kW with 1.5 kWh, 1 kW with 3 kWh, 3 kW with 5.2 kWh also 6 kW with 9.1 kWh. One unit can run air conditioners, fridges, induction hobs, farm pumps or telecom gear. A full recharge takes as little as two hours and at peak load the battery keeps devices running for 1.5 hours.
