Modular Battery System Launches for European C&I Market

EFT Energy Solutions has introduced a modular battery system for commercial and industrial users in Europe, allowing businesses to add capacity over time without redesigning the system. It uses BYD LFP modules and standardized configurations to simplify deployment and expansion.

EFT Energy Solutions Launches Industrial Flex Storage Platform Using BYD LFP Technology

EFT Energy Solutions has introduced Industrial Flex, a new commercial and industrial (C&I) energy storage platform designed to bring the streamlined, plug-and-play standardization typical of the residential market into the larger C&I segment. The system is built around BYD lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery modules, aiming to make medium- to large-scale storage deployments faster and more cost-effective.

A subsidiary of EFT Systems Group and a long-time European service partner for BYD energy storage technologies, EFT developed Industrial Flex to address growing demand for modular, scalable storage packages that reduce engineering complexity for businesses and industrial users.

System Architecture and Design

Industrial Flex is engineered around BYD’s MC Cube LFP modules, known for their high safety profile and long cycle life. To complement the battery hardware, EFT has built an Integrated Control Cabinet that incorporates a Power Conversion System (PCS) designed in-house.

System operation and optimization are handled by EFT’s proprietary energy management system (EMS), which coordinates charging, discharging, and grid-interactive functions to support peak shaving, load shifting, backup power, and renewable integration.

Modular Configurations for C&I Customers

The platform’s modular format is intended to simplify project planning. Industrial Flex is offered in four standardized configurations, starting at:

  • 144 kW / 501 kWh
    and scaling up to
  • 576 kW / 2,004 kWh

These packages can be expanded further through parallel AC coupling, allowing users to grow system capacity as operational needs evolve. Across all configurations, Industrial Flex supports a maximum C-rate of 0.5, ensuring stable performance for typical C&I applications.

Pathway to Utility-Scale Projects

While Industrial Flex is optimized for commercial and industrial use, EFT said the architecture can be adapted for large-scale storage deployments up to 200 MWh. For these utility-size systems, the energy storage platform can be paired with third-party PCS solutions from leading manufacturers such as SMA and Power Electronics, leveraging established grid-integration portfolios.

Standardization Driving C&I Energy Storage Adoption

By combining BYD LFP modules with a modular, pre-configured control and PCS cabinet, EFT Energy Solutions aims to reduce the engineering and installation overhead that often slows C&I storage projects. The company says Industrial Flex brings residential-style standardization to a market long dominated by custom-built solutions, supporting faster deployment timelines and more predictable performance.
